| Introduction | Until recently, I was a single mom of 4 children for nearly 12 years. There have been times it's been tough, but God has met us at every turn. I have not always been faithful to God, but He has alwayss, without fail, been faithful to me. At 17 I first encountered Jesus on a personal basis, but it took many years and many times falling flat on my face to finally surrender. Throughout that time there were times that I believed I was walking with the Lord, but in reality I was following a system of rules, devoid of any real relationship with my Creator. There were also times when I felt completely incapable of measuring up, therefore giving up and walking away. But, as God tends to do, He continued to pursue me and continued to fire up that desire for Him in my heart, and eventually I came to the end of myself. Today my spiritual walk is less about following the rules and more about following Christ. I tend to be fairly simple about things, just looking to do what God sets before me that day, looking to love Him and to serve Him. Amazingly, I find the opportunities abound when I just open my eyes to see them. |
| Interests | Music, fellowship, fine arts, yard work - yes, I actually LIKE to mow the lawn! - reading, movies, attending sporting events (especially soccer, lacrosse and hockey), dancing (somewhat badly - though I wouldn't mind taking a class or two), learning and expanding myself- personal growth, in other words. My passion, however, is my writing. When I can't find another way to express myself, writing never fails me. |
| Favorite movies | I love a good movie - action, humor, drama (not sappy). The movie needs to pull me in from the beginning or forget it! I still love Princess Bride, I will confess I like the Harry Potter movies (there's something about the way they make me remember getting lost in my daydreams as a kid). |
| Favorite music | Almost anything, as long as it is quality, both melodically and lyrically. Generally speaking, though, you won't catch me listening to rap/hip hop. I appreciate talent, not popularity. |
| Favorite books | Mysteries are my favorite to read for entertainment. I love a book that can draw me right into the story and keep me there. I've never been a big fan of the sappy, cookie cutter romance novels. |
