Introduction Hm...what to say about myself? I've led a couple of lives so far. After studying psychology, literature, drama and opera, I have eventually found my calling in becoming a psychotherapist, working with trauma survivors, suicidal patients, as well as people suffering from personality disorders which can be highly complicated,as you might imagine, but always fascinating. A challenge to your wits on a daily basis. Do I love my job? Oh, yes. Writing has, just as singing, always been a tool to untangle thoughts and find solutions in taxing periods of my life. And in the happy ones. Not always on this blog, though. After a long day at work, what could be better than getting a longbow and spend an hour in the woods, putting arrows into targets? I guess, Errol Flynn is to blame for that... There are some things I want to do before I die - e.g. learn how to parachute, swim with dolphins and visit Hawaii. I'm still young, so I guess I'll have the chance to live those dreams... at least once.
Interests Everything that makes and keeps us human - and everything that inspires us to be kind.
Favorite Movies FAVOURITE FILMS... hm...far too many to mention, but here are a few: Lawrence of Arabia, All About Eve, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogy, The Court Jester, The Fog, The Last of the Mohicans (w/Daniel Day-Lewis), Sherlock Holmes(w/Basil Rathbone), Gladiator, Robin Hood (w/Errol Flynn), The Princess Bride...and anything Alfred Hitchcock, Ridley Scott, Kenneth Branagh or Steven Spielberg... ... ... FAVE PLAYS: Hamlet, Hamlet, Hamlet, oh, and Henry V, Death and the Maiden, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Deep Blue Sea, Faust, Antigone, Cyrano de Bergerac, Relative Values, Much Ado About Nothing... ... ... FAVE OPERAS: La Traviata, The Magic Flute, La Bohème........ FAVE TV: Documentaries, preferably history, astronomy, archaeology, politics, ... depending on current global events or personal mood... Supernatural, White Collar, Criminal Minds, Sherlock, Vicar of Dibley, The Walking Dead, Empire, Halt and Catch Fire.
Favorite Music FAVOURITE MUSIC:...I am a "voice" person, give me a voice that moves me, and I'm happy, doesn't matter whether it's opera or pop or rock. Or the mere reading of the London phonebook...I do prefer a baritone, though, rich, resonant ... Love Freddy Mercury, Bryn Terfel, Loreena McKennitt, Ludovic Tézier, Erwin Schrott, Pia Douwes, Frank Sinatra, Alice, Tony Bennett... And I adore Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Bizet, Verdi, Puccini, aaah... Puccini..
Favorite Books FAVOURITE BOOKS: Too many fave books to actually name them, but, well, to give some information..., Everything Oscar Wilde, Peter Ustinov, Shakespeare, Tennyson, Schiller and Rilke wrote - oh, and William Boyd, Tess Gerritsen, Leo Tolstoy, Nancy Mitford, Goethe, Jane Austen, A.G.Matos, Ian McEwan, Hemingway... Often I need books on science, be it Dawkins, Hawking, Kahneman or, well, Freud. But on lazy Sunday mornings it can be very easy reading, or sometimes poetry which needs to be read aloud and savoured..., there are days I like to switch off my brain and inhale a book without being required to think all the ruddy time...or simply revel in beautiful language... it's a shame I don't have enough time to read everything I'd love to or to watch every play, film or tv series. There are moments I wish a day had forty-eight hours.
