| Introduction | I am a senior at the University of Texas with a major in English. I am taking a Texas Government class as part of a degree requirement and find my class a true necessity as I know very little about politics and government. I missed out on the 2008 presidential elections by a few months and although I have had four years to prepare myself, I feel I have gained little more knowledge about government since then. I was able to answer about half of the Texas General Knowledge quiz and a mere one question on the Texas Political Knowledge Quiz. I am hoping to dramatically increase my knowledge as I feel out of touch with my own state and home. I am a solid liberal and always have been in some way but moving to Austin definitely increased my awareness of where I stand. |
