| Introduction | Joe O'Brien is the Political and Finance Director for Congressman Jim McGovern. He also works as an adjunct professor at Clark University. He previously served as the Mayor of the City of Worcester Massachusetts. He has also served a as a member of the Worcester City Council and the Worcester School Committee. As Mayor, created and led Task Forces on Job Growth and Retention; Latino Student Achievement; the Mayors Immigrant and Refugee Roundtable; and the Small Business Roundtable. He also led efforts to make new investments in public schools and created the Mayors Civic Academy to teach civics to community leaders. Joe currently works as an EMS Paramedic and is an adjunct proffesor at Becker College. Joe received a BA in Urban Studies from Fordham University, Bronx, NY and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He also received EMT paramedic certification from Quinsigamond Community College. Joe O’Brien is married to Lisa Laurel Weinberg, a human rights lawyer and they live with their two children in a home they renovated in the Main South section of the city. |
