| Introduction | I am 33 years old. D and I have been happily married since June 2000 with 2 furbabies (kitties). I work at a research hospital and D works in IT. We're trying to conceive (TTC) our first since Nov 04. This journey has been strengthening our love and commitment to each other. In June 2005, when the old fashioned way of babymaking didn't work, we started seeing a reproductive endocrinologist (RE), nicknamed Dr. Babymaker. Some intensive poking and prodding later, 3 rounds of Clomid, then another round with IUI finished up the year. When the new year has arrived and we're plunging onwards into the world of Assisted Reproduction Technologies (ART) aka high-tech babymaking. We did 2 more cycles of Clomid/IUI when I went for laproscopic surgery to check for abnormalities and endometriosis. Surprise surprise, Dr. B found some endometriosis and removed them. Another surprise followed that, 5 days after my injections teaching class, I found out we are expecting - no drugs, no IUIs. Life as an anxious first time mom ... |
