Introduction	I am a retired M.D. As the only doctor, I was responsible for the physical, symptomatic and mental well-being of an ever changing 600+ terminally ill patient population of two hospices in a South African city for more than six years. Those terminally ill patients taught me almost all of what I know about death, dying and transition of a physical body. Their courage, wisdom, love, ability to accept and forgive and especially never to blame anything or anybody for the predicament or situation they find themselves in, will enrich my life forever.
