| Introduction | First off, it seems helpful to say that in using the word "rogue" I am not actually trying to conjure the McCain/Palin fiasco of a few years ago, but am referencing my experience away from my home academic community, doing on-site research by driving around the southern countryside in my new-to-me Corolla. I am a grad student working on my PhD in English, looking for a space to think through some of my research away from the Word interface, which has slowly become less friendly to my writing. I hope to chronicle my semester in the Carolinas, where I am doing archival work, exploring research methodology and the ethics of representation, among other things, in between moving through boxes of paperwork and yoga. **As the semesters pass, I am now finishing up my degree and working towards the job market.
