| Introduction | Welcome to my blog which shows new paintings and short commentaries on my work. I will regularly be posting images which show paintings created in this manner, as well as some step by step demo's. I love the buttery feel of working with thick, luscious paint, and very big brushes. My goal is to step aside and let the paint flow freely, with only a minimal amount of direction on my part. Letting paint "do its own thing" is a beautiful blend of happy accidents and guided intuition. The paint does things on its own that I could never orchestrate or imagine, so why get in its way? I teach classes and workshops in "How to Paint Fast, Loose and Bold", locally and regionally. My students range from total beginners to highly advanced painters. I demonstrate that by "losing" control you gain freedom and freshness. My motto in painting - and life- is "if its not fun, its not working". Hopefully the joy I experience painting is felt on some level by those that view my work. Feel free to ask questions, offer comments, share tips, etc. I'd love to hear from you... Patti |
