Lionesses have no manes. How do they know when they've grown up?
Growth is also determined through an increase in size. A normal size adult lioness's body length can range from 4'7" to 5'9" while the average shoulder height is 3"3'. If they could measure themselves, it would help greatly. Plus they are the hunters and mothers so whenever they start killing prey and having babies would also be a good indication.
