| Introduction | During my time as a student, substitute teacher, and secondary English teacher I have learned to teach, interact with a variety of humans, and grown as person...not bad. That is not why I have begun to write. When I listen to student council members, state and federal department of education officials, and those heading the education unions, I hear good intentions. I also hear the silence. Those things they will not/choose not/dare not say. I also hear people within the community speaking ill of teachers and children. Before we can restructure our education system we must honestly see what we do have. Maybe it is just me...I guess I will find out soon enough. |
