Introduction	Sjon Lavery was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma on June 24, 2010. The doctors estimate that he had the cancer in his body for about a year and a half without knowing. Since his diagnoses he has had 6 surgeries and is currently undergoing interferon treatments. Sjon is 40 years old and to know him is to love him or at least really like him A LOT! He has been married for 22 years to his beautiful wife Angie and have 2 children Sjondel and Colton who are the light of his life. Their family is extended to others who consider Sjon and Angie mom and dad as well. Sjon knows that the way he has spent his life and the lessons he has learned have only been preparation for him to be able to fight this battle. He has made it a point in his life to be present for others, to see only the greatness in people instead of their faults. He strongly believes that positive thinking and energy is why he was able to fight off the cancer without even knowing it for so long and his mindset is why he is healing so quickly from surgery to surgery. He is a beautiful example of the human spirit and what it is capable of.
