| Introduction | My name is Catherine M. Fitch. I am a graduate of University of Northern Iowa, I received a dual major in elementary and middle school with areas of concentration in science and social studies. I am currently working as a substitute teacher in the Des Moines Publics school system in Des Moines,Iowa. This blog will share entries from my experience with students in First grade, Fourth grade, and Sixth grade. These were rooms that I completed my field experience in. My student teaching was completed in an eigth grade science classroom and a thrid grade classroom.I also had a chance to do a long term substitue job as a 7th grade science teacher for my first substitute job. I am working as an on call substitute, and am thankful that I have had a job everyday so far. I am enjoying visting the different schools and experiencing different grades and subject areas. My hopes are to use the skills aquired during my time with the University of Northern Iowa,and my teaching experience to spark a thrist for knowledge in the students I work with.
