If mud is dirt plus water, what is clay?
My husband's answer. LOL! He is a civil engineer & took soils classes in college. I love his "official" answer to my random question... All soils are classified as silts, sand, or clay. The composition of mud and clay is the same, the only difference is the composition of the particles and clay is more cohesive.
