| Introduction | Hello! I am 31 years old and reside in Lubbock, TX. I was born and raised in Fredericksburg, TX, and moved to Lubbock in 2003. I received a dual bachelor's degree in December 2005 in Agricultural Communications and Agricultural Leadership. I furthered my education by graduating with a Master's Degree in Agricultural Education in December 2007, while writing a thesis that analyzed if implementing iPods into the classroom was an effective tool. I have been employed with Texas Tech University for 9 years. My current position at TTU is serving as the Unit Coordinator for Animal Care Services/Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Through this position I was given the task to enhance our current Occupational Health and Safety program for our most recent AAALAC accreditation. I excelled in this task, and look forward to offering this assessment to other universities to use in the near future. I was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer in December 2013. I had no family history of breast cancer, or really any cancer for that matter. I had though been diagnosed with two melanomas. Thank you for following my fight! Karin Fritz |
