About me

Location New Hope, PA, United States
Introduction I fell in love with the gulf coast region while in Naval Flight Training in Mississippi. I have relatives in Tangipahoa Parish (pronounced Tanj-i-pa-hoe) in Louisiana, and the region has become a home for me of sorts. When disaster hit the region with Hurricane Katrina, I had the opportunity to help rebuild an animal shelter after Katrina. The shelter was in Plaquemines Parish that defines the delta of Louisiana which juts out into the gulf. I returned to Plaquemines when I was invited to work with the Natural Resource Damage Assessment Project following the Deepwater/Horizon oil spill accident in the Gulf of Mexico. I currently work both in small animal veterinary medicine and am a regular contributing journalist to the Bucks County Herald in Eastern Pennsylvania.
