Introduction	Looking out my window over our heifers and the rolling fields, I'm reminded that where I came from is a lot different than where I'm at now. Growing up in a small town in West Central Illinois, I dreamed of living on a farm, doing "farm" things. Never really fitting in with the "townies" or the "farm kids," I learned to do my own thing and set out to embrace a life that I knew little-to-nothing about, except that John Deere tractors are green and gold, the world of livestock was fascinating, and that you can't stop a determined mind. I embrace my "non-traditional farming" background, learning all that I can and sharing what I've learned with others, and proving that I can live this simple, country life!
