| Introduction | My main interests are sustainability, community and spirituality. So why a blog about lyme? Because like oodles of other folks, the life I love has been interrupted by it. I got lyme in ’97 and took antibiotics, which gave me relief for many years... and probably just chased the bugs into hiding. In 2005, it re-emerged, and it’s been a slow, steady decline since. I didn't get diagnosed properly until 2010. My treatment has run the gamut: antibiotics, herbs, infrared sauna, rife machine, colloidal silver, vitamins and minerals, cleansing, fasting, prayer and art therapy. I believe that patients need a lot of choices, and that the right treatment is the one that works. I live at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage, with my teenage son, Jibran (who also has chronic lyme.) I am married to Laird Schaub who, for some strange reason, lives 3 miles away in the community he started in ‘72, Sandhill Farm. I am the Director of Ecovillage Education US and have my own consulting firm, Sol Space Consulting, which specializes in cooperative group dynamics. In 2007, I published my first book, Passion as Big as a Planet, about spirituality and sustainability, and I write for Communities Magazine. |
