| Introduction | Currently I am with the Religion and Faith Program at the Human Rights Campaign. Our mission is to mobilize people of faith to work for LGBT equality in their places of workship and in their communities. I am also an active lay leader at All Souls Church, Unitarian, where I’ve chaired the Committee on Ministry and have worked on issues of racial justice, community voting rights and neighborhood outreach. While I go to a Unitarian Universalist church, I am deeply drawn to the early history of Quakers, particularly their practice of spiritual discernment. I received a PhD in English Literature from the University of Maryland in 2000 and am currently working toward a Masters in Theological Studies from Wesley Theological Seminary. |
