| Introduction | We would like to bring to your notice that over the past 8 years, the Research Center for Urban Safety and Security (RCUSS) of Kobe University, has been organizing a capacity building and training programme on the theme of Disaster Risk Reduction for Urban Earthquake Disasters; for professionals in Asia, Middle East 6 North Africa (MENA), and Latin america regions. These training programmes are sponsored bu JICA. In 2010, we organized a Follow-up workshop from November 1-3 by inviting the 13 ex-participants of the above course to initiate the regional action plans for UDRR, and we strongly agree to initiate the action plan by selecting the group leaders and coordinators for Asia, MENA, and Latin America regions.
