| Introduction | I'm a professor of computer science at Binghamton University, in upstate New York. My main research area is physical design for integrated circuits, but I'm also interested in biology, cryptography, and optimization in general. Amdahl's Law grew out of some observations made by Gene Amdahl, more than 40 years ago; I'm hoping to raise awareness of the law, as it's as relevant (and correct) now as it was at the start of the computing revolution. |
