| Introduction | Designing & making unique jewellery has been my passion for going on 7 years now. In 2008 I completed my Bachelor of Fine Art with Honours at the Queensland College of Art, majoring in Gold & Silversmithing. Since then I have been creating myself a studio space anywhere I can, from invading the living room to even claiming a corner of the bedroom for my bench. I aim to create work that is complex in construction yet appears aesthetically uncomplicated & uniformed. Much of my work has developed from considerations of line & form, & has been influenced by the Bauhaus & de Stijl movement. The use of geometric shapes figures strongly in my work with an aim of incorporating them in such a manner that promotes shape uniformity & design purity. I create pieces that explore jewellery’s ability to influence the wearer through aesthetics & technical aspects. Jewellery design & making appears to be the beginning of much excitement for me. I have many grand plans for exploring my ideas on a larger scale in unique furniture & functional objects. So watch this space… |
