| Introduction | I have been gardening for twenty years in Virginia. I have been a master gardener, although I do not participate any longer. (I prefer to tend my own garden rather than others!) I also coordinated an elementary school garden for a number of years. I grow a little bit of everything. I enjoy perennials, annuals, herbs, vegetables and container gardening. My blog is called The Messy Gardener not because it's filled with weeds or not taken care of. It's quite the opposite. I am constantly weeding and taking care of the garden. My garden is messy because I tend to leave my weed buckets or the wheel barrow out. The hose is almost never put away and I'm always losing my garden tools somewhere in the garden!
