Occupation Editor and publisher
Location Ilwaco, Washington, United States
Introduction I'm editor and publisher of the Chinook Observer and editorial writer for the Daily Astorian, newspapers at the mouth of the Columbia River. I live in Ilwaco, Wash., with my wife and daughter. Our area is famed for salmon, oysters and Dungeness crab, plus the new Lewis and Clark National Park. Mythtown is the area of nearby Willapa Bay where we often watch otters playing. My family has lived in Washington for nearly 130 years, having homesteaded in northwestern Washington Territory in 1883. I grew up in Wyoming — home of my mother's family for seven generations — and attended the University of Wyoming (BS in economics 1983 and JD in 1986). These columns first appear in our two papers. I hope you enjoy them; they are posted here primarily for friends and family.
