| Introduction | Our three year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in September 2014. Like so many families, it was a shock and came out of the blue. Little D is all about our efforts to keep T1D in the background (little d, not big D): we can never forget about it, or ignore it. But I don't want it to run (or ruin) our lives, particularly my daughter's. I want to make sure we can support our excellent clinical team with as much useful information as possible. I'd like to make use of technology where possible to help achieve this but I'd like that to be grounded, with a sound evidence base, rather than trying everything for the sake of it. We've taken a great deal of information, advice and comfort from the multitude of T1D blogs and groups out there - and from meeting and talking face to face with families who are (or have been) going through the same hoops. This blog will (hopefully!) try to complement that information, rather than replicate it. We have a long way to go. I hope you find our journey useful. |
