| Introduction | If you can't tell by now, I'm a detail girl, and as one of my former MPN editors loved to joke, consistently turned in stories with a column inch count as tall as I am. (That would be 60 inches, or 5 foot nothin'). I'm extremely loyal to my friends and family, not to mention my co-workers, my community, and all my favorite haunts, be they retail, commercial or not-exactly-in-between. My sense of righteous indignation is highly developed, and I can occasionally bristle against "the establishment" and/or its rules. Oh, and the "E." stands for "enthusiastic" or perhaps "energetic." And yes, I have the red shoes to prove it! |
| Interests | Music, movies, dancing, drama, good books, SLEEP!, writing (in detail), family, friends and faith. Add to that the pursuit of truth, justice and the perfect ice cream cone. |
| Favorite movies | The Shawshank Redemption, Up!, Sleepless in Seattle, A Few Good Men, The Princess Bride, Sense & Sensibility, The complete Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Extended), The Hunt for Red October, In America, White Christmas, Singin' in the Rain, Ladyhawke, The Sound of Music ...I could go on, but you're already sick of reading this and you already pegged me as a typical chick-flicker. Fine, I concede. |
| Favorite music | Movie Soundtracks: "Remember the Titans" "Mr. Holland's Opus," "Forrest Gump," and my all-time faves, "Sleepless in Seattle" and "Serendipity." Upbeat, Sing-Along, Old-Time Jazz/Big Band tunes: Michael Buble' (divine!), Harry Connick Jr. (more fun along the same lines), Jimmy Durante, Nat King Cole and Louis Armstrong. CCM: Sara Groves, Francesca Battestelli, Michael W. Smith, Jeremy Camp, Ginny Owens, MercyMe, Casting Crowns, |
| Favorite books | Fiction: John Grisham's "The Street Lawyer" and "The Firm;" my entire Multnomah/Palisades collection, especially the Robin Jones Gunn series;"Lord of the Rings" and the complete "Chronicles of Narnia;" my Sara Teasdale poetry anthology; Siri L. Mitchell's contemporary novels; Non-fiction: Anne Jackson's "Permission to Speak Freely," John Eldredge's "Wild at Heart" and "Captivating;" the Kiersey Temperament Sorter II; Gary Chapman's Five Love Languages series; Rick Warren's "Purpose-Driven Life;" just about anything by Andy Stanley or Chip Ingram; and all the baby name books I consult as references on the meanings of people's names. Under "reference materials," we also have my secret indulgence: the four vocab books I loved so much in high school, I ordered brand-new ones again later in life. And in children's literature, we have the entire Mini & Maxi Muffin series, "Good Night, Moon," and Sandol Stoddard Warburg's "I Like You." |
