| Introduction | I teach Canadian and American literatures at the University of Northern British Columbia and online for the University of Winnipeg. I was born in Texas and have lived in New Mexico, Tennessee, Alberta, Italy, Manitoba and British Columbia. My published books include a book of poetry, Waking Blood, a book of literary criticism, Making it Home: Place in Canadian Prairie Literature, and two collections of women's writing, The Madwoman in the Academy: 43 Women Boldly Take On the Ivory Tower and Unfurled: Collected Poetry by Northern BC Women. I have four children aged 5 to 14, and two rabbits. Favorite activities are hanging out at our remote lakeside cabin and fibre arts (spinning, felting, knitting, weaving, art quilting and mixed media). |
