| Introduction | This fall I will be running the ING New York City Marathon as part of the Boston Children's Hospital Miles for Miracles charity team. I am so excited for this opportunity and am just as excited to document the experience and share it with all of you along the way. As part of the BCH team, I have paired with a 3 year old patient named Ellie. Ellie started as a patient at the hospital before she was born and spent the first few months of her life in the hospital's NICU. She is now a thriving little girl who loves Elmo, yoga and swimming (she wants to be an Olympic diver!), and still visits the hospital to participate in their amazing Down Syndrome Program. It fills my heart with joy to know that everything I'm putting into this marathon is going to benefit Ellie and other patients who have spent time in their little lives as patients of BCH. As part of my marathon commitment, I have pledged to raise $3000 that will go towards Boston Children's Hospital for one big reason: when the sickest kids need the best care in the world they come here. If you are able to make a contribution, your generous donation gives very sick patients here at the hospital a chance to get better. |
