Introduction I grew up in S.F. and spent my summers in Sonoma on my family's land nestled at the end of Walling Road in the Dry Creek Valley. I moved to the East Coast for college. After graduation I moved to NYC to become a teacher with the NY Teaching Fellows where I worked for 3 years as a teacher at a public school in Brooklyn. At the time I lived with 2 friends and wine became a nightly ritual, each of us taking turns buying a bottle of the $3.99 wine of the month from our local wine shop on our way home from work. It was then that my love of wine began. I began seeking out the most delicious wines I could find that were still affordable on a teacher’s salary. Now I am back in school, this time to study Social Organizational Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia. To me, tasting and discovering new wines is like finding treasures, and I am a treasure hunter at heart. I love the idea of having wine as part of everyday life and I enjoy experimenting with how food and wine interact with each other. I hope to bring the perspective of the open-minded, budget conscious wine explorer.
