| Introduction | I'm in my 30s and have three children. Two have Asperger's, and I have spent the past 3 years studying Asperger's. I am compiling information to write a book on the subject so that people will be better informed. My boyfriend is majoring in history, and we spend a lot of time relating historical situations to today. We also watch a lot of X files and Law and Order. I have an odd sense of humor and have difficulty "getting" why people consider certain things funny. This makes it hard to appreciate almost universally loved shows (like the Office) and movies. Finally, I am a fanatic researcher. I research everything. |
| Interests | Gourmet cooking, history, art, poetry, literature, gaming, medical science, politics, movies, and the law. |
| Favorite movies | Breach, Letters from Iwo Jima, Moulin Rouge (hey, I *am* a woman), Fight Club, Live Free or Die Hard (don't ask), Life is Beautiful, the Departed, the Prestige, the Usual Suspects, and many more whose names I forget. I am bad at titles. |
| Favorite music | Right now, I've been listening to the Kaiser Chiefs, All American Rejects, and the Raconteurs. I like movie musical soundtracks (like Evita and Moulin Rouge), the music from the second Pirates of the Caribbean, the Beatles, Pink Floyd's the Wall, and assorted songs by various artists. I'm really more drawn to a particular song than a particular artist. |
| Favorite books | A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Deep Survival, Galileo's Daughter, The Time Traveler's Wife, A Poetry Handbook, In the Heart of the Sea, Where the Red Fern Grows, Cat's Cradle, Crime and Punishment, Farewell to Arms, A Tale of Two Cities, Les Miserables, Germinal, Antigone, If This is a Man, anything by Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde |
