Introduction	I am currently (until 2011) one of three Councillors for Castle Ward on the Borough Council of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, UK. I am not in any political party but describe myself as an "Independent Socialist". For many years I was a member of the Labour Party but resigned over the war in Iraq and government policies in respect of eduction, human rights/immigration, health and housing. I am a member of "Independent Socialists in Wellingborough" which meets monthly and has a regular programme of political and social activites. I am married to Petra and have two grow-up daughters (Melanie and Hannah) who have to put up with my rather strange, unusual and time-consuming political activites. My Mum (Jo) now lives in Wellingborough and my only sister (Jane) lives in Northern Ireland.
