IntroductionI grew up fishing smaller trout streams in Serbia (former Yugoslavia), where I also studied biology and pursued my interest in ornithology. A move to Boston to study music in 1991 was a major career change. I became a dedicated SWFF addict and fly fished waters from Baja to Montenegro. As a student, I occasionally tied flies for Stoddard's in Boston, America's oldest fly shop (which sadly doesn't exist anymore.) Even though I like tying all kinds of flies, innovative saltwater patterns are my specialty. I have been building graphite and fiberglass fly rods for nearly twenty years. I also authored a variety of flyfishing articles, which have been published in several magazines and various web sites. From 2003 to 2011 I lived in the Midwest, where I explored limestone creeks of the Driftless area, traditional fiberglass rods and wonderful warmwater fisheries. I have been a member of the Rodsmith's Guild since 2013. I currently live on the water in Boston harbor, build rods, tie flies, and fish for inshore species on a daily basis.
