| Introduction | Although I've worked in politics and government and founded a non-profit health advocacy organization, I was born to write and make poems. It took several decades to truly "live out loud." Important to me, in random order, are: authenticity, being around water in any form, honesty, friends, family, writing, music, the moon, home, politics, activism, kindness, delicious food, laughter, lovely wine, reading, nature, flowers, music, spirituality, achieving balance in life, art, theater, poetry, good health, compassion, our environment, dancing (alone or with a partner), making a positive difference, quiet moments for reflection, and golden time with friends and family--especially my granddaughter, the Bliss Bringer. I wouldn't trade my sense of humor for a winning lottery ticket. Most of my time is spent writing, engaging in political activism, visiting the ocean. I'm having fun--inhaling, exhaling, and shaking off gravity. You can find my book, DANCING ON MARS, and reviews at Amazon. |
| Interests | Writing, politics, social justice, women's issues, reading, painting, conversation, gardening, integrative medicine, time with friends, enjoying nature, museums & galleries, movies, searching for memorable wines, rookie photography. |
| Favorite movies | Too many to name...I don't mind subtitles. "Italian Lessons," "Amalie," "Frost/Nixon," "Moonstruck," "Julie and Julia," "Milk,""Silver Linings Playbook," "Blazing Saddles," The Intouchables," "Three Billboards..." "Darkest Night," "Fences." |
| Favorite music | On my Bose you might hear Bob Dylan, Andrea Bocelli, James Taylor, Mitchell Zeidwig, David Boette, Carole King, Norah Jones, Tibetan monks chanting, Boney James, Lyle Lovett. If you hear Bob Segar or Keb Mo, you'll know I'm in the kitchen cooking and dancing. |
| Favorite books | To name favorites would be like answering, "Which is your favorite child?" Well, almost like that. Anything by Anne LaMott, The Kite Runner, The Loudest Voice in the Room, Saved by a Poem, Letters to a Young Artist. Enough! I could be reading! |
