| Introduction | I am a mixed media artist. I count myself incredibly blessed to have been born on the Atherton Tablelands, home of some of the most spectacular rainforests in the country. My love of textual surfaces stems from this diverse and ever changing rainforest environment that people travel from all over the world to see and wonder at. I see texture in everything and this makes me hoard textual treasures which in turn have filled our house to overflowing. My art is an energy within me that is connected to both my emotions and my intellect. Creativity is something that dwells deep within and dictates my every thought and movement in my art,as well as in my daily life. Creativity is a necessity, it is something I need to do, it is who and what I am. It is my driving force and it takes me along many different paths and is expressed in many mediums. My very soul is exposed through drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and sometimes sculpture. When you look at my art, you are looking at my inner being. |
