| Introduction | I am a medical student at Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. Many people know who I am, and I even include a link to this blog in my every-day email "signature". It is not a secret I put much effort into concealing, and I suspect if you put in a little effort you could track me down, but I don't know why you would bother. For now I am going to retain my anonymity on my blog. It's not that I have a problem with being accountable for what I write. It is my intention that I be comfortable enough with anything I write to have it published in the newspaper with my name attached. I am not a negative or snarky person. The major reason I would like to remain anonymous is so I can write about my experiences during rotations and residency, and it is because I would like to share them with others. I followed several medical student blogs for many years while I was working hard to become a medical student. They were entertaining and helpful. I don't want to have to worry about providing too much information about a scenario so that a patient has an opportunity to take legal action against me because someone was able to figure out who I was talking about. |
