Introduction	I have worked and played and lived with preschoolers my whole life. I have been educated in their care both formally and informally. I find them endlessly fascinating, deep and easy to know. I worry that we are moving in the wrong direction as we try to figure out how to best take care of them in groups while their parents work. I have my own little group of them. My husband, Michael and I run what is called a large family childcare program out of the first floor apartment of our home in Cambridge MA. The kids have named it Macky and Michael's House. We pretty much let the kids play all day long. This is a blog to explore more deeply what we observe, what we have found to be true, and what we would love to share with the larger world about how freedom and structure can work together to allow children the space to grow into the world that is awaiting them. Just like kids always have.
