Introduction As a child develops physically and intellectually, the art they produce reflects their changing perceptions and understandings of their world. While each child will reach the many milestones of artistic development at different times, children generally follow the same sequence of development. Two-and three-dimensional projects are designed to enhance and develop skills, techniques and cultural awareness through creativity by exploring various mediums. It’s through these activities that children foster their knowledge, gain an appreciation of, and eventually determine the roles that art will play in their lives. Linda Pollart-Person and Carl Clausen have taught for several years in the Bellevue School District.
