| Introduction | I am a Firefighter-Paramedic from San Francisco California. I began my Firefighting career in Los Angeles and soon after that decided to become a Paramedic also. I moved to San Francisco a couple years later and have been in the Firehouse ever since. My Firehouse consists of my Captain, me and 16 men. Yes, I am the only woman in my department at the time. In order to "stand my own ground" here, I have to always be one step ahead of them all. Still, I wouldn't change my job for the world. Like they say, "It's the best job you'll ever love!" I thought of "changing the names to protect the innocent." But I changed my mind when I realized there were no "innocents." At least not in MY Firehouse! :-) |
