Introduction I'm presently retired from the teaching profession, which I did for thirty three years. Now I'm pursuing my real interests which are always art related. I'm a perfectionist and not easily pleased with just any artistic pursuit, being plastic or performing arts. I know I have multiple talents in the arts which have been half developed due to life's circumstances. I never forget who I really am, though.
Interests I especially love the performing arts and have acted in dozens of plays. I love film, viewing and doing it. I love the visual and performing arts in any form; however I'm very selective in my taste. I love music and like to dance to it. I wanted to be a ballet dancer when I was a child, but my parents never consented for me to take classes, or for that matter, classes on any artistic training that required a stage. I wanted to learn playing piano, as well, since I like music so much. I had to be content with hearing it from the house next door. I write poetry, stories, and plays, but I haven't managed to give that aspect of me a real push. Therefore, I have a collection of unfinished businesses. I keep postponing a lot of what I can do in lieu of other pursuits. Soon, I'm planning to give "me" more attention and energy. I love dancing all kinds of music, from popular to classical ballet. However I was never able to be trained as a dancer for any significant period of time to have been able to do it professionally. My first dance class was Flamenco Dance I took when I was twenty five. I’m content to keep up with popular dance classes I take at the gym on a regular basis. I also like to read books that inspired me into a spiritual life. One of my favorite activities is going to church, Unity, which is a unique metaphysical experience since it is unlike any other church I have experienced. I especially like it because it helps me to grow inside out. I love growing, and will never stop as long as I live.
Favorite Movies Definitely "Avatar" is one of those movies that left me floating. As a film product, I find it perfect: It has excellent and beautiful cinematography, excellent script writing (plot, action sequence, pace), wonderful acting, and in addition, the spiritual and social message it carries, in my opinion, makes it a jewel. I have loved many films, and I have seen a lot. I like movies with substance. I prefer Dramas or romantic ones over comedies which I enjoyed better as theatre performances. I like tension and action in movies, but would not watch certain low life issues subjects on films that are made just to get to the box office. I dislike any horror, violent movies or bloody ones and avoid them. I think they are bad for your soul. I hate stupid movies whose only purpose is to seek the easy laugh. In theatre, I preferred dramas that contain black humor or comedies with some dramatic content. Theatre should keep you interested. Stationery dialogues throughout the play, don’t appeal to me. Plays that are too wordy tend to bore me a little and sometimes a lot. I like musicals, also. My favorite play has been “My Fair Lady” which I saw by Paloma San Basilio, and “Evita's” Hispanic version, also featuring her. The actress (sorry, forgot the lady’s name) who performed on Broadway’s English version was not as intense, however the play as a production was better. I saw “Sunset Strip” on Broadway, and I left the theatre in tears, from the emotion of having seen such a marvelous piece. On a different note; I don’t know if I was tired that day, but I went to sleep during “The Miserable’s.” To this day, I couldn’t tell you what it was about.
Favorite Music I love Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, because I'm a perpetual romantic. Of course, I love Ballet. Debussy's Claire de Lune is orgasmic to me. I like most classical works. Spanish classical composers are some of my favorites: El Bolero de Ravel; Falla's Fire Dance, Albeniz. I love Flamenco and Rumba Flamenca as well as some of Spain’s pop groups or singers that do it so well. I also love Salsa like "Somos los Campeones de la Salsa." and Regaeton by Daddy Yankee. Yes, I go from the sublime to the ridiculous. Perhaps, since I love dancing and moving to music, I enjoy popular music especially Cuban, but also Pop music, the Jacksons, Shakira, Madonna. I can’t hear any music without dancing it in my head. I don't play any instruments, except a little of castanets playing and can follow a beat with percussion instruments.
Favorite Books Gustavo Adolfo Becker’s rhymes: “ Las Rimas de Becker” was my first favorite. My father used to read it to me when I was three and it made a profound mark on me to this day. I developed a taste for poetry from that experience. I avoid reading books that are long, because I have a hard time putting it down and I find myself doing nothing but readying until I finish it. Sometimes that takes days! Paolo Coelho is an author who I can read because his novels have a length I can manage in less time. I like self help books such as “The Art of Loving”, “Man Who Hate Women and the Women Who Love Them, ” How you can Heal your Life, ” “Love is Letting Go of Fear”, The Seat the Soul”, “The Secret”, and many more I have read.

What would you like to be when you grow up? I've always answered the same thing since I can remember: An actress. Today I can still give the same answer.
