| Introduction | I grew up in rural southeastern Ohio where I got my BFA in Painting at Ohio University. I then moved to Chicago and worked at the Art Institute for four years until I decided to go to graduate school. I moved to New York where I received my Masters of Fine Arts in Painting from Pratt Institute. I also started teaching art while I was in NYC. I received a New York Times Grant to teach art in schools that did not have art programs. I then moved back to Chicago where I teach high school art. I love my job. Teaching art is the best thing I could ever do with my life. Painting is also a huge part of my life, and this latest series is based on my collection of tiny objects…things I’ve collected since childhood. I never leave home without my camera; searching out the beauty in the things we see everyday. You just never know where you’ll find inspiration!
