Introduction Fun, fit, witty, and a bit nerdy. Amelioration is an important part of my existence. Movies are my favorite art form. I'm the sort of person who never shows up for one late, and always sits through the credits. I've published dozens of movie reviews for a public web site that is now gone, and I had my own web site full of reviews, but Comcast took down their free user web pages, so I'm going to start recreating that here. I've also reviewed and written about various topics like science fiction, martial arts, philosophy, fencing, and Wing Chun. My humor is often so subtle that only dogs can hear it. I believe this is why dogs sometimes bark at me for seemingly no reason. I consider myself an autodidact and polymath. My bookshelves are filled with classical literature, and volumes on philosophy, science, tactics, film making, linguistics, self help, chess, and other subjects. At least once a week I pause to be thankful that spiders cannot fly. Teddy Roosevelt is the president I admire most. Rewards go to anyone who can deduce exactly why. I was Time Magazine's Person of the Year in 2006. No joke! Look it up.
Interests Movies, Video Games, Martial Arts, Fencing, Philosophy, Photography, Databases, Web Design, Computers, Tech Hardware.
Favorite Movies Raiders of the Lost Ark, Seven Samurai, Godfather 1 & 2, Citizen Kane, Highlander, Terminator, Aliens, Fight Club, Rear Window, L.A. Confidential, Brazil, Dr. Strangelove.
Favorite Music Hard to pin that one down, but lately I've been listening to a lot of house and techno at home, but classical during my commute. Maybe because I'm a terrible singer, I notice I listen to a lot more instrumental than singing. I'm partial to Peter Gabriel, NiN, Beatles, Madonna, techno, classical, and movie soundtracks.
Favorite Books Once and Future King, Godfather, Ender's Game, Lolita. Anything by Frank Miller, Alan Moore, Clive Barker, Mark Millar, or Neil Gaiman. (And I've met three of them.) I think David Sedaris is hysterical. I've recently read a lot of Cormac McCarthy, Thomas Harris, Lee Child, and Orson Scott Card. Blood Meridian is a book I'm on the fence listing here. It amazes me, but it disturbed me enough I'm not sure if I'm comfortable listing it as a favorite.
