About me

Introduction The Stevensville United Methodist Women began as Stevensville Ladies Aid Society and was first organized in 1887 by Mrs. George Smith. Due to her ill health, the society did not function very long and reorganized in 1899. The church was then at the corner of Lawrence and St. Joseph Ave in downtown Stevensville built in the summer of 1878. In 1973 the United Methodist Women, which included our Ladies Aid Society, became the women’s mission organization of The United Methodist Church. From its beginning, the entire program and organization of United Methodist Women has focused on ministries toward women, children, and youth. To support our ministries we have bazaar and rummage sales, and special events.
