Introduction	David Wiegers is a life-long Lincoln buff and accomplished photographer. Wiegers, who grew up in Decatur, Illinois, has had an abiding interest in Abraham Lincoln ever since his parents packed him and his 5 brothers and sisters into the back of the family’s Ford Country Squire station wagon for the obligatory trip to visit Mr. Lincoln’s hometown of Springfield, IL. Coupling his long time love of photography with his near obsession to photograph the entire body of Lincoln sculptures and monuments, Wiegers has spent 5 years and drove and flew thousands of miles across 30 states photographing and researching all the images of Lin¬coln that he could find. His 30th anniversary vacation to Hawaii in 2007 was scheduled so that he could photograph a statue near Honolulu. Wiegers has visited and documented over 250 Lincoln statues and monuments and has compiled thousands of digital images. Wiegers is working on a book of his photographs. The working title of the book is A Life Worth Remembering – The Monumental Life and Legacy of Abraham Lincoln.
