As a result of the ever increasing popularity and accessibility of digital technologies, Libby and Wetzel recognized the need for preserving and promoting techniques and processes that are quickly fading into the history of the arts by popular standards, thus the laboratorium was born. The pair is dedicated to the advancement, dissemination, promotion and exploration of historic photographic processes, film, papermaking, and book arts, and they strive to keep these traditions alive.
