| Introduction | James M. La Rossa, Jr. is the founder of MedWorks Media Global, LLC, a a publishing company based in Los Angeles, CA. MedWorks owns and publishes numerous health science journals dedicated to psychiatry and psychopharmacology. He is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences. La Rossa is on the Board of Directors and heads the Executive Committee of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a group comprised of neuroscientists and pharmaceutical industry executives dedicated to the research and prevention of suicide. La Rossa is on the President’s Advisory Council of Phoenix House, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation group for adolescents and young adults. He is a member of the World Psychiatric Association. He has attended Sarah Lawrence College, the University of London, and Fordham Law School. He sailed as an Ordinary Seaman for the US Merchant Marines, and worked during college at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
