| Introduction | I've had no formal training, and have no degrees from top culinary schools. I taught myself how to cook by growing up watching the remarkable Julia Child and Martha Stewart. Also as I grew older, when friends would invite me over for dinner, I always asked if I could make dinner for them instead. Now as an adult I have binders and binders of recipes I have come up with or collected over the years, along with hundreds of cookbooks. I watch both the Food Network and The Cooking Channel almost daily, because as Michael Simon puts it “If you learn how to prepare a great recipe you’ll learn how to make a great dish. If you lean a great technique you learn how to prepare many.” |
