| Introduction | Originally from Japan, Emiko Takeuchi moved to San Marcos, Texas from Pennsylvania in July 2006. Emiko obtained a Masters degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburg, and is currently attending Texas State University-San Marcos studying composition under the instruction of Dr. Thomas Clark. She comes to Aquarena Center, a nature and environmental education center in San Marcos, Texas, everyday, keeping a diary of the diverse wildlife, plants and people she observes. Recently she contacted Aquarena Center wishing to contribute her time in some way that would benefit the park. After discovering and reading her diary, she was invited by Aquarena Center staff to share her enchanting reflections in a blog posted to the Aquarena Center website (aquarena.txstate.edu). Emiko has an astute eye and writes a compassionate and compelling description of the wonders and diverse life surrounding Aquarena Center, Spring Lake, and the San Marcos River. Please enjoy! |
