Introduction	I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. My parents are originally from Cuba, but fled to escape from Castro's regime. I graduated in 2001 from the University of Miami with a degree in Childhood Education and Psychology, and quickly began teaching in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. I taught for 6 years mainly as a 6th grade language arts teacher in a middle school and loved every minute of it. My husband and I then moved to New York City and quickly found a job working as a teacher in an elementary school. I have enjoyed my teaching experience and love to share some of my ideas that I have learned to getting kids motivated to read.
Interests	Love traveling, cooking, reading, teaching, and jogging around the city
