| Introduction | I'm a student returning to the University of Iowa after my latest business venture went sour. I'm heading in to the Ph.D program in Economics. I'm a small 'l' libertarian. Not a big 'L' Libertarian because I believe that it is the legitimate business of government to build, maintain and deploy armed forces as-necessary to make sure that our enemies don't get cute. I do not believe it is the business of the government to regulate commerce, food and drink, drugs, prostitution or gambling. In other words, stay off my back unless I am hurting someone without their express or implied consent. I'm also a big fan of cooking, football, history, James Bond, Robert A. Heinlein, Terry Pratchett, Farscape and Firefly. I'm also single, so ladies viewing the blog are invited to read my beautiful prose, fall madly in love, and send me emails or pictures. |
