Introduction My name is Sister Natalie Cain. I grew up in North Adams, Massachusetts with six siblings, including a twin brother. We attended St. Joseph’s School where we got to know many Sisters of St. Joseph. Girl Scouts were an important part of my early life. Summer camp opened me to enjoy experiences of community with people from various backgrounds. I especially liked singing folk songs, story telling around the campfire, hiking through the forest, and overnights, sleeping under the stars. These experiences served me well as a primary grade teacher, camp counselor and folk choir director in my early years as a Sister of St. Joseph. Later, as a pastoral minister, I discovered the art of listening as I visited in people’s homes and heard many stories that needed to be told. As a religious education director and consultant I came to recognize the desire of adults to deepen their faith and seek spiritual companionship with others. As an adult educator I delighted in developing courses that would expand people’s consciousness of God and shed light on ways to live our faith in everyday life.
