About me

Introduction	Carlene Marak and Jackie Townsend collaborated with numerous highly skilled special education directors from across the state sharing input and suggestions to develop and provide this product for you. Jackie has worked in education for 30 years as a district sp. ed. director; Region 4 ESC sp. ed. director; diagnostician; counselor and teacher. Jackie was recognized for providing leadership for projects such as the Texas Behavior Support Initiative and Children’s Mental Health Initiative. She currently does program evaluation, long range planning, performance-based continuous improvement, and budget development. Carlene Marak has over 30 years of experience as a former teacher, Region 10 Education Service Center Consultant, sp. ed. coordinator, and sp. ed. director in Texas. She currently provides consultation services to schools, Spectrum K-12 School Solutions, Inc., and sells products developed to assist sp. ed. directors. Carlene is also working with the New Mexico State Dept. and a Level 4 Determination school. She previously served as an accountability specialist for the U.S. Dept. of Interior-Bureau of Indian Education.
